Jim began to pace and was beginning to make a pattern on the floor of McCoy's office. The news that Spock had not been located on the planet surface via his communicator sent shivers down the Captain's spine.

The mission was quite simple, respond to a distress signal. But there was anomalies with the signal. It was a repetitive message in a never ending loop. Always replaying the same signal over and over.

I did not know what I was thinking.

I responded on impulse.

Seeing him fighting like a wild man.

I grabbed his wrist, feeling the pulse against my fingers.

An erratic beat like the beating of my own heart.

It lasted for only a few seconds.

When logic intervened and my hand left his.

Some days logic can be highly overrated.

This was one of them.

Mmm...love the way you were able to add "glow" effect to the screencap...and the poetry is BRILLIANT...you see inside their minds so well, you identify with them so strongly and it comes through loud and clear when you write them...
